What is the best toddler homeschool curriculum? Inside this post we'll talk about what you can do at home every day with your toddler!
Toddlers are the coolest!
They have short attention spans, lots of energy, and moods that can change on a dime, which means you’ll never have a boring day!
They’re constantly learning, discovering new interests, and asking questions too!
It can be fun, but also overwhelming to have a full day at home with a toddler. I have an awesome resource to help you!
To help busy parents who want to homeschool (or just add some structure to their day), I’ve designed a simple curriculum for toddlers and preschoolers called A Year of Play!
A Year of Play is a simple toddler homeschool curriculum for busy parents! It helps support parents through the toddler years with simple themes, playful activities, and engaging children’s literature.
A Year of Play includes:
- 48 different children's book suggestions (plus the YouTube book links)
- 240 easy to set up activities (one per weekday for a whole year!)
What should I be teaching my toddler?
Toddlers are always learning! As a parent and educator, I’ve focused on 6 skills toddlers need to learn. These skills are developed through everyday activities, play, reading and exploring!
- Language Skills
- Motor Skills
- Social Skills
- Early Learning Skills
- Imagination Skills
- Self-Regulating Skills
Many of these skills are taught through daily connection and simple hands on activities using the Year of Play curriculum.
How do I homeschool my toddler?
Toddlers learn through hands-on experiences and opportunities to connect and explore their world. They also learn as they interact with YOU and other people in their environment! You can homeschool your toddler by giving them experiences based on their interests, or you can purchase a toddler homeschool curriculum.
Homeschooling means that parents/grandparents educate their child at home instead of sending them to a school or an education program.
Most toddler parents are "homeschooling" their kids every day all day long!
Do toddlers need school?
Nope! In my opinion, toddlers don't need any formal teaching or school! Toddler do need opportunities to play, read, and connect! This can happen at home or outside of the home. Each family is different.
The first step to homeschooling is deciding on a curriculum or a plan (if you intend to use one).
Important parts of a toddler homeschool curriculum are:
- Awesome books to read covering a variety of themes/topics
- Fun and engaging hands-on activities
- Opportunities to create and play
A Year of Play toddler homeschool curriculum includes 48 different themes for families to explore. This gives each child exposure to a variety of topics and children’s books. This helps them expand their vocabulary and understanding of the world they live in.
The Year of Play curriculum comes as an ebook (digital book) that you can download to your phone or computer and use anytime. It can also be printed out for easy access!

- Inspire your child to launch into play and creating so you can get back to your “work,” while your kids do their “work (play!).”
