The Nevada-native first emerged as a potential suspect after his sixth wife, Sharon Causse, died during what is now believed to have been a staged home invasion in 2008.
When taking a closer look at Thomas, the police found the moribund man had lived an ill-fated life of love that seemed far too coincidental to be innocent.

He was soon arrested on charges of murder for the death of his sixth wife and his pal and handyman, Michael Miller.
He was tried in 2017 as prosecutors accused him ofhiring Michael to shoot Sharon to death and make it look like a burglary gone wrong so that he could cash in on the over $300,000 life insurance payout.
Despite maintaining his innocence, Thomas found himself behind bars.
However, Thomas grew certain he would get out of prison during a 2023 retrial, which was granted because the jury heard about the 1986 death of his second wife, Becky Gault, in Utah.
But, his luck ran out and he was sentenced to 60 years in prison, meaning the serial monogamist will likely die behind bars.

From the outside, the 69-year-old seemed to be nothing short of a man in awe-inducing love in 1975 when he tied the knot with 18-year-old Kathryn Thomas.
However, their romance came to end and Thomas went on to tie the knot with five other woman.
But only one of them lived.
The rose-colored façade surrounding Thomas came crashing down when his sixth wife, Sharon, became the latest woman to tragically lose her life after vowing to spend the rest of her life him.
The bizarre series of events on the night that Sharon's heart stopped beating were unfolded in an episode of the upcoming docuseries and during the 2017 trial.
He noted that the fateful 2008 evening began with the couple opting to skip a movie and deciding to stay in and have sex instead.
However, when Thomas entered the home just shortly after his wife, he found her lifeless body laying on the ground.

It was then that they discovered that Sharon wasn't the only woman in his life that had taken her last breath while wed to Thomas.

His first wife,Kathryn Thomas, wed Thomas in 1975 when she was just 18 years old and he was 20.
They were together for eight years before they divorced in 1983, and Kathryn later described Thomas as 'controlling, manipulative and psychologically abusive' during his first trial.
She recalled an incident that saw Thomas throwing a bowl of oatmeal at the wall because it didn't have sugar in it.
She noted that after she separated from Thomas and remarried, she and her husband moved several states away to get distance from her first husband.
Becky Gault was Thomas' second wife. She and Thomas tied the knot on the exact same day that his divorce with Kathryn was finalized in 1983.
Becky tragically died just three years into their marriage with her death initially being ruled a suicide.

Thomas hired Michael Miller (pictured) to kill his then-wife Sharon and make it look like a botched home invasion
Thomas received a whopping $500,000 life insurance payout and was later charged and acquitted for her murder after police found that her husband used to sing about bringing his wife's life to an end.
He even tried to hire a hitman to kill her, however, it backfired when he was an undercover cop.
Thomas was later arrested and plead guilty to witness tampering. He was never convicted of her murder.
Randolph did not allow Francis Thomas' daughter to see her while she was hospitalized
His third wife, Gayna Allmon, was one of the lucky few who got out of her relationship with Thomas.
However, it wasn't easy.
During his 2017 trial, she told jurors that she believes that Thomas tried to kill her with a gun during their marriage.
She recalled the chill-inducing moment he shot at her while cleaning his gun.
Luckily, the bullet missed and Gayna left the marriage shortly after, with only a bullet hole in their kitchen left behind.
His fourth wife, Francis Thomas, died in the hospital following complications from a botched heart surgery in 2004.
However, her daughter, Rachel, remained adamant that her mom's husband was somehow involved because Thomas was the last to see Francis alive.
Witness Glen Morrison told the court that he was asked to put an end to Francis in a similar manner his then-future wife Sharon died.
Thomas reportedly had his fourth wife's body cremated less than 24 hours after she died.
His fifth wife, LeonaStapleton, died of cancer and little is known of their relationship.

It's unclear how long the pair were married but she testified at trial that he threatened to kill her when they were together.
She told the jury that he was abusive and manipulative.
The pair lived in Utah together.
Prosecutors also claimed at his trial that he tried to have her killed by a hitman but that the plan was unsuccessful.

No 2: Becky Gault - DEAD
Dead: 1986
He claimed she committed suicide by shooting herself in the head and that she'd threatened it once before.
He was charged with her murder and the trial included a star witness coming forward to say he'd tried to hire him to kill her.
Eric Tarantino said he'd tried to hire him to kill Becky and that he feared he would then be killed himself.
'Until the day they find him dead in his cell, or they stick a needle in him, I sleep with a gun at my side,' he told the court.
Despite his testimony, he was acquitted.
Gayna Allmon

Gayna testified against him at his second trial.
She said she believed he was also trying to have her killed but that he couldn't convince a hitman to do it.
She recalled at trial one occasion where he was cleaning his gun in front of her and it went off.
Gayna said she believed it was a threat to her life.
No 4: Francis - DEAD
Francis
Francis died in 2004.
A man testified at trial that he'd been asked by Randolph to kill her.
Glen Morrison told the jury that Randolph plotted with him to kill her in a trailer in Indiana.
He declined the job because, he said, he didn't want to be killed by Randolph himself afterwards.
Francis then died in suspicious circ*mstances and he cremated her immediately.
He then sued a hospital where she'd been treated for an unspecified illness, won a settlement from them and a payment from a life insurance policy he had taken out on Francis.
No 5:Leona Stapleton - DEAD
Little is known of Leona or when she died but Randolph, according to The Review Journal, told friends and family she died of cancer.
No 6: Sharon Causse - DEAD
Sharon was found dead from by gunshot wound in 2008.
Randolph called police, claiming he had come home to find her dead and Michael James Miller in his home.
He said Miller was armed and to stop himself from being killed, he shot him.
But Causse's family was suspicious of his story, as were police. He was charged with double murder but had it overturned earlier this month.

Despite claiming he was innocent, the judge ordered Thomas to spend the remainder of his life behind bars for his hand is his wife's death.
At the time, Thomas vowed to appeal, he said: 'We’ll deal with it at some point soon.'
